HIBS YOGA Restorative is a slow paced, meditative class for students of all levels from brand new Beginner to Advanced, no yoga or meditation experience necessary. Restorative yoga poses require no muscular exertion, the practice is more mental than physical. All poses are held comfortably for a luxurious length of time, completely supported by bolsters, blankets, and other yoga props. HIBS YOGA Restorative classes use guided meditation, breathing, and relaxation techniques to internally feel and let go of habitual tension, anxiety, and stress. HIBS YOGA Restorative classes are the perfect antidote for a busy mind, a tired body, or the feeling of having "no time" for anything. HIBS YOGA Strength is a challenging Mixed Levels class for Athletic Beginners to Intermediate and Advanced level students with a regular yoga practice. This class is not suitable for brand new beginners with no prior exercise experience. HIBS YOGA Strength classes use strength building Forrest Yoga poses, Pilates techniques, mindful exercises for muscle conditioning, and therapeutic strengthening as tools for safely building the muscular intelligence, coordination, efficiency, and endurance. Students learn how to take stress off overworked muscles by strengthening muscles that tend to be weak or stiff, maintaining proper alignment in pose transitions, and isolating specific muscle groups for successful attempts at more advanced yoga poses such as arm balances and inversions. HIBS YOGA Levels 1 & 2 is a moderate 60 minute class for Intermediate and Beginner level students with a general understanding of the basics. PREREQUISITE: HIBS YOGA Basics class - familiarity with Ujjayi breathing, Forrest Yoga Basic Moves, and foundational poses. In this HIBS YOGA Beginner to Intermediate Levels 1 & 2 class, students continue to build on their foundation with more variations of practice and a wider range of poses. Students also learn modifications and down-levels for more complex pose variations, gaining tools for working at their own pace in a Mixed Levels class, while building strength and flexibility for a more advanced practice. HIBS YOGA Intermediate Levels 2 & 3 is a challenging 75 minute class for students with a solid understanding of the basics and a regular ongoing Forrest Yoga practice, who are ready to take their practice to the next level. This class is not suitable for brand new beginners. In this Levels 2 & 3 class, students continue to cultivate strength with integrity, heightened awareness, and connection in feeling, while enhancing their deep breathing skills, high quality focus, and energized pose expressions. This Intermediate Levels 2 & 3 class incorporates a wider variety of poses, and offers tools for successfully navigating a longer and more advanced practice. Holistic Integration of Body and Spirit (HIBS) YOGA is a Forrest Yoga studio. Classes are set to a comfortable room temperature of 80-85 degrees. This class is not suitable for beginners. In this Intermediate to Advanced Levels 3 & 4 class, students continue to cultivate strength with integrity, heightened awareness, and connection in feeling. Using deep breathing, high quality focused attention, and deeper layer intent, this class navigates through advanced sequences with greater variety, intensity, and complexity, employing a full spectrum of poses and a longer practice. Holistic Integration of Body and Spirit (HIBS) YOGA is a Forrest Yoga studio. Classes are set to a comfortable room temperature of 80-85 degrees.
